There are plenty of PSP games running on UE, most notably, the Tom Clancy games. I don't know if these are special to Unreal Engine games but from my point of view there aren't many emulators out there with Unreal Engine games support. They can add mods support once games are fully playable.

If I had to chose between support for mods and actual accuracy with games I would prefer accuracy. It is just a fan and experimental emu and not all things are supposed to be implemented so fast. Ryujinx hasn't made 3 years in development yet and the devs don't work full time on it. The architecture of other emulators is also different etcĪlso I guess the PR you were talking about was this one: įrom what I have see on discord this is very complex to fix because there is no way to properly locate a bindless texture. Also there is the issue of licensing the code from other emulators. I don't think there are many emulators out there where you can just read the code and copy it.

I think the reason was that most console companies had their own engines for development. I think Bravely Default 2 is a Unreal Engine game and it has shaders with bindless textures. I see your point here but let's start from the main issue because I also want to understand why this is the case. There are so many great ideas that could be repurposed from PPSSPP and RetroArch to where they're not working from scratch. I really don't know why these emulator developers are working in silos as they are. SpecialK - which I can't stand the DOS-ish interface for RomFS - I have what is supposed to be a TAA patch, but it sure doesn't seem to be working despite being in the right directory and the interface provides no option to know whether it's even detected or not to troubleshoot. On a side note I think it's silly that the FBI got involved, yet didn't care when Sling was first launched and basically allowing people to steal TV. What irritates me about GitHub is that the interface doesn't make it logical to just download a build with a straight up "Download" button unless it's fully published. These hacks/mods don't (apparently) work with the regular Ryujinx, so I looked at the PR. Atmosphere (never heard of it but apparently it's big on the custom firmware side, and I am not inclined to hardware crack my Switch even though I have two of ems the ability to do custom firmware has gotten a lot more challenging since the days of PSP where I still have my hacked one somewhere). So the older emulators basically just collapsed them into either RAW or Action Replay and you just used a converter. Then Action Replay has multiple subversions. Used to be, it was as simple as Game Genie. Problem is - unlike the "olden days" there seems to no longer be consistency with mods/cheats/etc.
